A Message from the President…
All months of the year are important, with each being special and unique in its own way. But, for the Sarasota Center of Light, that is especially true during the month of February. By the end of this month, the 2021 AGM will have taken place and voting members will have elected a new Board to protect the interests of the church and remain in service to all of you throughout the upcoming year.
I would like to take a moment to share with you some of the wonderful qualities of those I have had the privilege to serve with for the past five months. Sitting in the seat of Vice-President, Eddie Muniz worked quietly and calmly. I reached out to him numerous times and he never failed to offer unwavering support. I am especially grateful to Eddie for helping me remain grounded during some challenging times.
Our Secretary, Sherry Brune has worked so hard to restore past minutes and records as well as offering hours of her time in keeping new minutes accurate and up-to-date. This position is no easy job; our meetings often lasted three hours or more and we averaged at least three or more meetings a month. There was always so much work to do, all of which needed documentation.
Jeff Lambert, as Treasurer, brought his knowledge of Center finances to the table and provided lengthy reports that I am sure were very time consuming for him. He was always ready to answer questions, and well knew the monetary exchanges at the Center.
Bob Sadler joined us at a time when his expertise and service could not have been more needed. Skilled in language, research, and professional communication with others, he took on project after project always bringing them to completion quickly. Mostly because of his hard work, new waivers (protecting the Center from possible Covid19 issues), a new lease for rental properties, and all election correspondence and documents were prepared and then legally reviewed to ensure that the Center moved forward in 2021 in a protected and secure manner.
There are so many duties and responsibilities beyond the meetings that sitting on the Board requires. Those dedicated to the work often spend hours of their time on a daily basis in search of solutions and continued improvement. Regardless of who represents and serves you in these positions during 2021, I would ask that you offer them your support in the rebuilding of a beautiful center hit hard by the pandemic of 2020.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to this Center.
A Message from the Acting Coordinator of the Ministerial Team…
Welcome to the month of Love. February is noted for the celebration of Valentine’s Day and expressions of love and symbolized by hearts. There are many kinds of love; love of a spouse, love of a friend, love of family, the love of country and the love of a pet and love of the things that are important to us like Mother Earth. We use the word love freely and in my mind that is a good thing. As we know words carry vibration and the vibration of the word love is of the highest vibration. While Valentine’s Day is a noted day of love, let us all be mindful of those who are alone at this time and will not be getting a Valentine card. If there is someone you know who is alone, I ask you to reach out and send a card or make a phone call. The benefit to the receiver might make all the difference in their life for love brings hope and the will to carry on through difficult times. Imagine how wonderful it would be to make every month, every day, every year a time of love and expression of it by speaking love and BEING love.
For as it says in John 4:16; God is love, and whoever abides in God, and God abides in them. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God in them.
My wish is a constant flow of love to you and from you.
Rev. Phyllis Lambert

2021 Healing “Serenity” Room is Nearing Completion!
From the Healing Committee…
We are all part of a Spiritual Family and during these challenging times, I am reminded of the words in Psalm 91: “He shall give his angels charge over us to keep us safe.” These words themselves give us comfort but with the death rate climbing and many people refusing to wear masks we need to also be proactive during these times.
I am so very proud of our healers who, even though our doors are not open, work tirelessly behind the scenes attending to the growing need for Covid19 related cries for help.
Be assured that all requests sent to us receive quick attention and are transferred to a Healing Team which will contact you so that you will be given personal attention during your healing journey. This way you can speak to your Healer and keep in contact with each other as you get better.
I would also like to mention, that our two Ordained Ministers are certified Spiritual Counselors and they are also available to talk with you about navigating these difficult times.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9AM to 12 NOON. You may call the office at 941-953-6620 and Tina will be pleased to help you.

A Message from the Board on the AGM…
Our Center’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in-person and on ZOOM (website is zoom.us) on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2 PM. The ZOOM log-in details are as follows: Meeting ID: 913 6707 7292 Passcode: scol852. Please do not share the log-in details as this is a private meeting for our members only. All members were notified of their voting or non-voting status in mid-January, and voting members are being mailed Ballots in early February. The Board asks that members participate, especially since important topics are on the Ballot, including bylaw changes about the Senior Pastor’s employment. The Board will accept Ballots (this year only) from voting members who cannot attend either in person or on ZOOM. Ballots will be collected in person at the AGM. Voting members who do not attend in person must mail, or drop off their Ballot at the church office by noon on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the church office. Please be sure to add an eligible signature on the sealed back of the envelope if you choose to mail in your Ballot.
From the Organizational Committee…
Thank You to All Who Had a Hand in Finalizing This Warm and Friendly Foyer!
Our committee has been busy re-organizing and cleaning the buildings on our campus.
There have been some structural issues addressed as well, which include some mortar repair in the flower room and placement of gutter guards on the Sanctuary. While the center is closed, we are addressing some housekeeping issues and hoping to have a new look and refreshed buildings when we reopen.
The Sanctuary foyer is almost finished with just a few small items to be done. A cleaned and refreshed waiting area in the back of the Sanctuary for guest speakers is almost completed.
There are still things to be done in the clean-up of the buildings, like molding being wiped down and windows being cleaned.
We welcome any assistance with this task. If anyone is interested in helping, please contact LaVerne Duff or Kathy Curtin.
From the Hands of Light Committee…
“Remember all the wonderful coffee hours this dedicated committee provided for us?”
Due to the Pandemic, the HOL team is still not meeting. I do, however, reach out to them via the focus and HOL team emails. This month I reminded them that if they are not yet on Constant contact and wish to continue attending our services, to please reach out to me or Tina so they can be added to Constant Contact, and therefore receive the Zoom link. There are a couple of people that joined just after the first of the year last year, that I believe were brand new and had not previously been added to our Constant Contact list.
HOL Team Leader,
Praise is a necessary attitude for people to develop. Always give praise to other people for what they’re doing even though in your mind you think it’s not enough. Maybe they’re not sincere but give them praise for how little or how much they do. That helps them feel important. It also helps them realize that people do notice that they’re doing something. Everyone likes praise. It’s like a pat on the back.
You should also praise the God from whom all blessings flow. When you do that, you’re showing gratitude and you are reaching out to the highest of all powers. That opens the door for more of the same good things to come to you.
Praise is a wonderful attribute to develop. It opens the door for other people, not just for yourself. When you give praise, you create a happy, positive, constructive vibration; you’re improving the atmosphere and helping people, and it radiates from you. You benefit as well by giving praise to others.
~ You are loved ~

THE VOICES OF SPIRIT; TEACHINGS OF THE ANGELS
FAMOUS PEOPLE – VOLUME I (1 DISC CD) $14 US
The Voices of Spirit; Teachings of the Angels, Famous People – Volume I is SCOL’s first CD release and an excellent addition to your spiritual library and gifting pleasure! It is a series of profound Master Talks, conveying love, wisdom and guidance by Master Teachers who were well known famous people when on the earth plane now in the Spirit World. These truly unique recordings from the mid-1970’s through the late-1990’s are by way of co-founder, Rev. Dorothy G. Flexer and her successor, Rev. Don Dugar (following her transition in 1996), via extremely rare Trumpet Mediumship. The intention in providing these Master Talks is to bring inspiration, teachings of spiritual truths and philosophy that could be used to help people with the challenges of everyday life. This material is produced and presented with love and gratitude by SCOL Press, the publishing entity of Sarasota Center of Light, Sarasota, Florida, USA. We invite you to listen with an open heart and mind. For additional information on our rich history, click About Us.
One may ask the question, “Why would beings from the Spirit World want to communicate with people on the Earth?” The answer is “Because they want to give us insight into understanding our purpose in life.” In honoring each individual’s power of choice, our Spirit Guides and Teachers will not give us the answers to the challenges we face. That would be equivalent to doing our homework for us. So, they bring advice and suggestions that will help us to find our own answers. The process of Spirit communication also reinforces the understanding that life continues after the moment of physical death and that there is nothing to fear from the life in the Spirit World. It is our honor to bring these words of wisdom to you.
