March Focus 2018

March Focus 2018

Making March Matter by Rev. Jim Toole

March brings with it Saint Patrick’s Day, the season of Lent and the Spring Equinox.  Each of these has a different focus depending on your belief and heritage.  All of them can be interpreted in a manner that has each of us take a closer look at our lives.

Saint Patrick’s Day is more than green beer and corned beef and cabbage.  It is a religious and cultural celebration of Ireland’s heritage and the patron Saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.  He is credited with converting Ireland to Christianity and would use a three-leafed clover as a representation of the Trinity.

We can look to Saint Patrick as an inspiration to rededicate ourselves to our Spiritual Truth and to be it every day in a way that not only affects our lives individually, but those around us whom we encounter daily.  How can each of us BE a “patron saint” of our own belief of God, Source, Spirit?

Lent is a time of self-discipline, including fasting, abstinence, preparation and contemplation. It is an opportunity for us to take a closer look at the habits and patterns we have created in our lives.  To look at the “way” we live and reflect on how it is or isn’t in alignment with our spiritual purpose and pathway.  Are we BEING our belief in who we are and what we do every day?

The Spring Equinox, with 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness, reminds us of balance.  Balance is key for each of us to be centered and experience harmony, peace and freedom in our lives.  As we reflect the brilliant illumination of our Spirit into our depths, we are able to see who we truly are and embrace ourselves in balance.  Are we choosing to BE the still and silent balance point of our expression in our lives?

We have an opportunity every moment to take a closer look at who we are and how we are BEING in our lives.  During March, take the time to contemplate your Purpose, your Spiritual Truth, and how you can celebrate it and BE it more fully every day.  Let your expression reflect this in everything you do and BE.  Choose to bring the stillness and silence of balance into your BEING as you are Making March Matter.

President’s Message

Creative energy abounds at SCOL.  With a sense of stability and a strong foundation, we invite in possibilities to strengthen and enhance our identity as a Metaphysical Spiritual Center, while honoring the traditions which uphold the teachings of our founders.

As 2017 came to a close there were a number of plans on the drawing board that now can take shape. A most important one is a Bylaw review.  Tim Brady, Vice President, has agreed to lead the process of reviewing and rewriting the bylaws.  Please watch for announcements of meetings.

Another idea whose time has come is Visioning the Future Direction of SCOL.  A process will be starting in the near future and we will invite all interested persons to get involved, offer suggestions and provide input.  The Board values your ideas.

The SCOL community comes alive through your participation. Thank you for the many ways you offer your time, services, and finances.

With the very best of wishes,

Joan Volpe, President

Please welcome Rev. Richard Schoeller

Healing Ministry

The first Wednesday, March 7th, is dedicated to Healers Healing Healers in the Sanctuary at 6:00pm.  All Certified Healers and student healers are invited to join us for this special time set aside for us to receive the gift of healing and to replenish our bodies and souls.

Our healing team has been very busy this last month.  There have been many in the congregation receiving healing who have been facing the flu, other viruses and health concerns.  Testimonials are coming in from those who have received healing, sharing how much of a difference it has made to them.

Be sure to take the time to wash your hands or use anti-bacterial gels to help prevent sharing the germs.  Taking the time to affirm being whole and healthy will raise your vibration and support your immune system.  Vitamins and supplements also help.

Anyone who would like to receive healing can call or email the Center office or go to the contact page of our website and request healing for themselves or someone else.  This can be in the form of absent healing, or if needed, in person. In the case of absent healing, our group of healers will be notified and will work together to send healing to each individual or situation.

ANGEL HOTLINE

 Question for the Angel Hotline:

I’ve always wanted to know:  Are Faeries real?

Answer:

This is an age old question that continually pops up, especially close to March 17th when we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  Many cultures, particularly the Irish and the Norwegians, have long histories of folklore and encounters with the “little folk” or “little people.”  They are quite serious in their history and beliefs on the subject.  Any Irish family will tell you of its experiences with Faeries, Leprechauns, Elves and the like.  Many books have been written on the subject and one author captured several of them in pictures which are quite rare.

The Elementals, as they are known in the spirit world, are very real.   Sometimes they manifest to individuals as Guides if that vibration is needed.  The Elementals do their work in silence, closely with the earth and those who care for it in an earth friendly way.

The Elementals work harmoniously with all the forces of Nature and will impress you how to work with Nature regarding the best place to plant, what crops/flowers to plant, when to plant, etc.  All you need do is ask for their help with an open mind and heart.   You might consider creating a special alcove or grotto in your garden as an invitation to the Elementals to make a home in your garden.  Set your intention and be surprised!
